Elizabeth Cheroutes is a Clinical Social Worker with nearly 30 years of experience practicing across a wide range of settings. Her work focuses on helping clients heal from trauma and overcome the barriers that prevent them from living their lives fully, confidently, and without fear. She views most mental health challenges not as signs of illness but as injuries, wounds that deserve skilled attention, compassion, and a safe space for exploration and recovery. Elizabeth works extensively with first responders, physicians, healthcare professionals, educators, and mental health providers, supporting them in maintaining professional resilience and reducing the risk of burnout related to the complex intersections of work and life stress. She is committed to creating a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where clients can reconnect with their strengths, build capacity, and move toward greater well-being. Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Kenyon College in 1992 and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Denver in 1997. She is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Wyoming. Stephanie has served the Jackson community as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mental health therapist since 2009. Born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, she carries with her a deep appreciation for the grounding influence of place and community. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and spending several years in Denver, she found her way to the Tetons more than twenty years ago and has considered them home ever since. Her only venture away from the mountains came when she pursued her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Michigan, graduating in 2008. Upon returning to Jackson, Stephanie joined the Hirschfield Center for Children, where she worked for several years as a therapist, child forensic interviewer, and child advocate. These experiences strengthened her commitment to providing compassionate, developmentally informed care across the lifespan. Stephanie eventually transitioned into private practice, where she now offers counseling to individuals of all ages. She is known for her warm presence, thoughtful guidance, and deep belief in each person’s potential for healing and growth. Her long-standing dedication to this community informs a practice rooted in empathy, respect, and steady therapeutic partnership.

Lewis specializes in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma and complex trauma, substance use, and the many challenges people encounter throughout daily life. He draws on a diverse set of therapeutic approaches to support adults of all ages as well as adolescents. His training and practice include EMDR (Levels I and II), Mindfulness and Meditation practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), substance use recovery support, and multiple trauma-focused modalities. Lewis holds a master’s degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Denver and is licensed to practice in Wyoming. With over 15 years of clinical experience, he has worked in a wide variety of settings, including high-risk residential youth programs, hospital emergency department psychiatric assessment teams, community mental health centers, outpatient substance use treatment programs, and private practice. His broad experience informs a compassionate, grounded, and versatile therapeutic style.

Barclay has served the Jackson community as a Clinical Social Worker for more than 20 years, beginning her career at Mountain House, a program within Mental Health and Recovery Services of Jackson Hole. She now brings that extensive experience into her private practice, where she works with adults seeking greater balance, resilience, and well-being in their lives. Her approach is collaborative and strength-based, focused on creating a supportive environment where clients can recognize their inherent capacities for healing and develop practical tools they can use in everyday life. Barclay integrates several evidence-informed modalities into her work, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Barclay earned her undergraduate degree from DePauw University and her graduate degree from the University of Chicago. Over the course of her career, she has worked in a range of local settings that have shaped both her clinical perspective and her connection to this community.

Frances Saalfield has lived in the Jackson and Teton Valley area since 2014 and is grateful to call these mountains, and this community, her home. Over the past decade, she has worked across both private and nonprofit sectors with a dedicated focus on mental health, healing, and overall well-being. Her work is grounded in the belief that first responders play a vital role in the safety and resilience of the region, and she is deeply committed to supporting those who serve on the frontlines. In her clinical practice, Frances provides a therapeutic space where first responders can regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with their values, and strengthen the alignment between their inner experience and the lives they are leading. Her goal is to help clients cultivate greater resilience, meaning, and overall life satisfaction. Frances takes a holistic approach to therapy by integrating modalities such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based interventions, somatic and relational therapies, trauma-informed work, and parts work to support the whole person- body, spirit, and mind. Megan Graves is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been in clinical practice since 2016. Her career began in Denver, where she worked with high-risk populations impacted by significant trauma. These early professional experiences fostered a strong clinical foundation and deepened her capacity to support individuals navigating complex and high-intensity life circumstances. Over the years, Megan’s work has evolved toward a focused understanding of the unique demands placed on individuals in high-stakes, high-stress roles. She has developed a particular interest in working with first responders, recognizing the cumulative impact of chronic stress and trauma exposure. Megan is licensed in both Idaho and Wyoming and is honored to serve the individuals who help sustain and protect these mountain communities. Megan believes that greater awareness and understanding of the nervous system is a key component of healing and long term resilience. She has a knack for pattern recognition and loves to support clients in stepping outside of negative patterns that hinder their growth and development. With thoughtful guidance and support, she works collaboratively with clients to help them develop insight, restore balance, and draw strength from their lived experiences. Her approach is person-centered, trauma informed, and individualized. She is trained in EMDR and DBT interventions.

Elisa Stephens has been part of the Jackson community since 2001, when she moved to the Tetons after attending college in Vermont and working as a ski patroller. Her early work with Community Entry Services and the adaptive ski program sparked a passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs and ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in nursing. She went on to earn both a master’s degree and a Doctor of Nursing Practice, shaping the foundation for a career devoted to expanding access to compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. For more than 15 years, Elisa has practiced as a psychiatric–mental health nurse practitioner, leading initiatives to improve clinical practice and increase the availability of high-quality mental health services. Her work has been recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally, including invited presentations at the International Council of Nurses in 2021 and the International Society of Psychiatric Nurses in 2025. She is known for her commitment to reducing barriers to care and for her thoughtful, collaborative approach to supporting clients and providers alike. Elisa is proud to be part of the TIPS clinician team, where she contributes her expertise to support first responders and strengthen the mental health resources available within the community. In addition to her clinical practice, she serves as a consultant reviewing Medicaid quality-of-care concerns and is a founder of an educational initiative designed to support psychiatric providers working in rural and underserved settings. Her work reflects a long-standing dedication to improving systems of care and ensuring that individuals in all communities have access to the mental health support they need.

Carly is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, but after spending a summer working in Grand Teton National Park, she was inspired to make the Tetons her permanent home in 2007. Motivated by a deep commitment to helping others and improving rural access to care, she pursued her nursing degree at Johns Hopkins University, where she was awarded the prestigious Nurse Corps Scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). She later completed advanced training as a Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at the University of Pennsylvania, earning the Leonard A. Lauder Nurse Practitioner Fellowship—an honor recognizing emerging leaders in advancing health and health equity. With 15 years of nursing experience, Carly is a board-certified Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner skilled in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental health needs. Her treatment approach is grounded in thorough evaluation and collaborative care planning. Depending on client preferences and clinical goals, she offers a combination of medication management and supportive therapy. She also recognizes the importance of multidimensional care and may incorporate guidance on nutrition, sleep, movement, and daily habits to support overall wellness. Carly’s approach to mental health is trauma-informed, holistic, and highly individualized. She works with clients to integrate their unique backgrounds, strengths, and personal goals into the treatment process, with the aim of not only addressing mental health concerns but also enhancing overall resilience, fulfillment, and well-being. Outside of her clinical work, Carly believes deeply in living a rich and meaningful life. She can often be found exploring the mountains with family and friends, practicing yoga and meditation, attending live music, or traveling the world. Her grounded presence, comprehensive training, and dedication to accessible, whole-person care reflect her longstanding commitment to the Jackson community.
